What we watch when the world finally quiets down

I’ve been thinking about how differently people behave when the day is finally over and there’s nothing left to do. Some immediately turn to their screens, others avoid them completely. Do you usually pick something specific to watch at night, or just let yourself drift from one video to another? I’ve noticed that my own choices at this time of day feel more important than during the daytime. If I watch something too intense, it’s harder to slow my thoughts afterward. It’s strange how quickly the mind absorbs the pace of what we see.

I’ve been experimenting with how I spend my evenings, and I didn’t expect such a simple change to affect my sleep so much. Instead of endlessly scrolling, I now try to be more deliberate about what I watch, focusing on slower, calmer content that helps me gradually wind down. It feels like giving my mind a signal that the day is over. I also sometimes use simple relaxing spaces like

because it reduces the effort of choosing and removes that constant temptation to switch between things.
